I see this league being more of a casual league, where people can meet new racers and have fun whilst maintaining a clean and fair race. That is my mission, please stick to the below rules and we will have a successful time If you ignore or break a rule, then this can lead to punishment including removal from the league.
1. General
All drivers are required to read, understand, and abide by these rules. Please contact the league admin if you need a rule to be clarified.
All XDGL racers will treat other with respect. Verbal abuse and swearing are not allowed on voice or text chat.
Cheating is not permitted under any circumstances.
All XDGL racers will be expected to participate in posting in the forums and in the PSN chat.
2. The Race
Races will take place promptly at the league's specified time, all racers are expected to be ready to race at the session start. The session lobby shall be created at least 5 minutes before the session is due to start, with invites sent to racers taking place at the same time.
If you are late for a race, you may send a message to the organiser asking if you can join. If there is no response, assume the session has already taken place.
It is recommended that you record your race (ensuring that you save the footage at the end of the race) so that any incidents can be reviewed using your footage.
Only the Organiser may begin a session or select Go To Track.
If you wish to withdraw from the league, please let your admin know asap.
If you cannot make a race, please let your admin know asap before the race.
If you miss 3 races in a row then you will be removed from the league, unless there are special circumstances.
If you need to retire during a race, please do so in the pits. Not on track.
3. Connections, Disconnections, & Restarts
Where it’s possible to rejoin the session without a restart, the following rules do not apply.
If a player disconnects unexpectedly during qualifying or the race start, the race will be restarted using 1 shot qualifying.
The host of the session will be expected to stay in the session, even if their race has ended. In the event of a network failure, the race will be restarted using 1 shot qualifying if less than 50% of the race has been completed. More than 50% of the race distance will be counted in the championship, in the form of half points if required.
4. Qualifying
Please retire your car within the pits, crashing out or retiring on track will gain an unfair tyre wear advantage on other racers.
When not on a flying lap, please take care to move out of the racing line when a fast car approaches.
5. Racing etiquette
Avoid any contact with other cars, this includes when overtaking or under blue flag conditions. Remember to be patient during the race, crashing out is not fun for you or the other driver.
If any car has their front wheel inline or in front of the other car's rear wheels during a corner entry then sufficient racing room will be provided to each car. The car in front or inline at corner exit has priority to the racing line, any car crossing their line incorrectly in this scenario will be deemed at fault.
Only one change of direction is permitted during a defend move.Once the attacking car's front wheels are in line with the defender's rear wheels, no defensive movements should take place. The leading racer is permitted to take any line in a corner they choose and is up to the behind driver to avoid contact.
Blocking or any other change of direction in a corner is forbidden.
Brake testing is not allowed.
6. Being Lapped
Blue flags will be waved when the faster car approaches the car being lapped. The lapped car must move out of the racing line at the first available opportunity in a safe manor causing no disruption to the faster car.
If the lapped car catches the faster car, they may unlap themselves but will be prepared to allow the faster car through if the catch up and blue flags are waved.
7. After an Incident
Return to the race track in a manor which does not interrupt other racers, using the return to track feature is not permitted.
If the incident requires investigation, please log an incident with the league admin, either directly via PSN chat or in your league's "Steward's Thread") along with video footage or images.
8. Track Limits
Drivers are to stay within track limits at all times. If they veer off unexpectedly, please return to the track asap without interfering with other cars.
If an advantage was gained during the track limits being exceeded, please hand back the advantage.
